Spanish Language Courses

Spanish language lessons and cultural activities for U.K. students are offered by Barcelona Field Studies Centre, using native Spanish teachers following the activity-based learning methods promoted by FL Institutions such as International House. All activities involve supervised individual or group work.  A sample timetable for a 5 day course offered is shown  below. It is possible to combine Geography field studies and Spanish lessons for your students during your stay in Barcelona.

Sample Timetable for a 5-day Course

Monday Activity-based lessons in classroom Guided tour of Barcelona and Barcelona 'Treasure Hunt': students are given individual and group tasks to collect information from a variety of sources, e.g. tourist information, restaurants, hotels, art galleries, travel agencies, etc..

Follow-up consolidation activities

Tuesday Activity-based lessons in classroom The history of Barcelona Football club, followed by a guided tours (in Spanish) of the Nou Camp

Friday Leave the hotel at 10.00am Full-day excursion to the Port Aventura Theme Park or options from above. Evening free or options from above.

The courses combine formal classroom tuition with a very varied programme of leisure activities which introduce the students to Spanish culture, sports and lifestyles.

Oral and written tasks can be geared towards GCSE and GCE coursework options.

Students work in small groups (average 10 per class) in bright, well-equipped classrooms.

Modern teaching methods and a variety of teaching materials are used.

Teaching staff are  experienced and enthusiastic with appropriate teaching qualifications.

Evening activities are optional.

Group entry to most attractions averages 6 euros per student and is additional to the basic tariff. The visit to Port Aventura is £22  per student. The salsa dancing option is £4  per student.
